新文章使用方法
先将下载的文章库文件(*.idx,*.lib,*.wav)
拷贝到c:\bdc\sound文件夹中(假设背单词装在C:\BDC),然后将这三个文件改名,如:dream.idx、dream.lib、dream.wav(dream.zip解压缩得到dream.wav),分别将dream改为SentText
即可,后面的扩展名不变,即分别改名为SentText.idx、SentText.lib、SentText.wav。进《轻轻松松背单词Ⅱ》后,在“例句天地”、“听力实战”、“休闲记忆”等功能中选[文章库]中就可以用这篇文章了。若想多篇文章共存于[文章库]中,操作方法参考使用手册“怎样使用从网上下载的英语文章?”。
 
A Hero(英雄)
词汇量为250词左右,适合中级及以下水平用户学习。语速较慢,为120词/分钟,由John Carey朗读。

2. "Fire! Fire!"What terrible words to hear when one is waken up in a strange house in the middle of the night!
“火!火!”,午夜里在一个陌生的房间中听到这样的字眼是多么的令人恐惧!

3. It was a large, old wooden house ---the sort that burns beautifully---and my room was on the second floor.
这是一个很大的旧式木制房子--那种可以熊熊燃烧的房子,我就住在二楼。

4. I jumped out of bed, opened the door and stepped out into the passage. It was full of thick smoke.
我从床上跳起来,打开门向通道走去,到处都是浓烟。

5. I began to run, but as I was still only half-awake, instead of going towards the stairs I went in the opposite direction.
我开始跑,是因为还在半梦半醒之间,我跑向了楼梯的相反方向。

6. The smoke grew thicker and I could see flames all around.
烟越来越浓,到处都是火焰。

7. The floor became hot under my bare feet.
我赤着脚,感到地板开始变烫。

8. I found an open door and ran into a room to get to the window.
看见一个门之后,我跑进了房间,想冲到窗子旁边。

9. But before I could reach it, one of my feet caught in something soft and I fell down.
但是脚碰到一个软软的东西,我被绊倒了。

10. The thing I had fallen over felt like a bundle of clothes, and I picked it up to protect my face from the smoke and heat.
好像是一捆衣服,我捡起来用它护着脸,以便遮挡浓烟和热气。

11. Just then the floor gave way under me and I crashed to the floor below with pieces of burning wood all around me. 正在这时楼板碎了,我掉到了一层,周围全是燃烧的木头片。

12. I saw a flaming doorway in front, put the bundle over my face and ran.
前面有一个门口火光冲天,我把衣服捂到脸上跑了过去。

13. My feet burned me terribly, but I got through.
脚被烧得厉害,但是我挺住了。

14. As I reached the cold air outside, my bundle of clothes gave a thin cry.
当我终于到了室外时,从那捆衣服中传来了轻微的哭泣声。

15. I nearly dropped it in my surprise.
惊讶之中,我几乎失手把它掉到地上。

16. Then I saw a crowd gathered in the street.
然后我看到街道上围着一群人。

17. A woman in a night-dress and a borrowed man's coat screamed as she saw me and came running madly.
一个穿着睡衣的女人披着一件男人的外套, 看见我之后,她几乎是疯狂的跑了过来。

18. "My baby! My baby!" She cried.
“我的孩子!我的孩子!”她哭着喊道。

19. The crowd cheered wildly as she took the smoke-blackened bundle out of my arms.
当她从我的胳膊中接过被烟熏黑了的衣服包时,人们大声的欢呼起来。

20. I had some difficulty in recognizing her.
我不太认识她。

21. She was the Mayor's wife, and I had saved her baby. I was a hero!
她是市长的夫人,而我救了她的孩子。我成了英雄!
